Charity

Kesar & Co Solicitors have always been generous with their time. Our staff have often worked without remuneration when our clients could not afford our fees or when representation could not be paid from public funds. We could not and we would not do it differently. After all, our clients are mostly vulnerable asylum seekers, victims of human trafficking and prisoners. However, the legal aid cuts and relentless erosion of funding for legal representation of prisoners and detainees did not only reduce our already modest income. They removed access to legal aid for many with a threat to remove free representation for many more in the near future. For this reason we decided to set up a pro bono branch and register it as a legal charity. Our charity, named Intervene Project was registered on 5th August 2013 and has helped hundreds of prisoners in the matters ranging from civil claims to public law challenges. Intervene Project relies exclusively on donations and work of dedicated volunteers.
