Kesar & Co Solicitors is a dedicated Legal Aid practice based in South-East London/Kent. We were recently awarded Silver Investors in People, we have held Lexcel accreditation since 2012, and in 2020, won the LawCareers.net Training and Recruitment Awards.

We are committed to human rights for all, and our teams of dedicated caseworkers tackle some of the hardest issues in the fight to bring justice. We assist clients who need help with community care, discrimination, public law, claims against public authorities, and prison law.

Solicitor Apprenticeships

This is a 6 year apprenticeship with training provided by the University of Law.

You must hold or expect to achieve by the start date, the following qualifications to be eligible:

  • GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) essential
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) essential

Paralegal

Do you hold a law degree and want to gain experience as a paralegal ahead of qualifying as a solicitor?

As a paralegal you will support the work of solicitors and experienced caseworkers, gaining hands on knowledge and experience to be able to take the next step as an independent caseworker or solicitor.

Should you wish to qualify as a solicitor either through the Training Contract route or as an apprentice, we will support you in this.

Salary: £22,500 p.a.

As a discrimination caseworker, you will join our team of dedicated discrimination specialists and work on complex discrimination matters including in the Employment Tribunal, but you will also have the opportunity to work in other areas of law should you wish.

METHOD OF REMUNERATION

We believe that good work should be adequately paid. We also think that those who underperform should not be subsidised by their more industrious colleagues. Whilst we always put the clients’ interest first, we recognise the importance of regular income. This helps us pay the overheads, recruit quality staff and is one of the essential elements of every successful legal practice.

So, how are the fee earners paid?

We offer two methods of remuneration:

  • fixed salary, reviewed every 6 months, linked to a fee earners billing.  Starting salary £22,000 for entry level fee earners.  Paralegals £19,240 for first year, bonus available second year.
  • fee sharing arrangement based on an fee earner’s billing with a basic salary guaranteed.
